Well, that was fast. Holy smokes, 16 seconds?! I figured Ronda would defeat Alexis Davis, but in no way did I see that coming. Rousey’s TKO of Davis 16 seconds into the fight was one of the most dominant performances I’ve ever seen. She just went out and flat-out imposed her will. You could just see the determination and rage radiating from her as she walked out to the octagon. It was cold.
And now, right on cue, the obligatory question is being asked: Is there anyone who can beat Ronda Rousey? Hell, I’ve given up on trying to argue that anyone can beat her. I’m just wondering if there’s any woman out there that can even put up a halfway decent fight against her. In her last two fights she’s fought a total of 1 minute 22 seconds. Think about that for a second (or 82).
Frankly, what Ronda is doing is just special. She is unstoppable right now and it’s the most exciting ticket in town. To me she’s reminiscent of Tiger Woods in his prime. You just knew he was going to win no matter what, and you know that Ronda’s going to be the one with her hand raised at the end of the night.
Yeah, there’s talk about her fighting Cyborg, but I don’t see that fight happening any time soon. It’s clear there are multiple hurdles to be cleared before those two set foot in the Octagon together, so we should look to the current crop of UFC women fighters, and I just don’t see anyone there who can challenge Rowdy. Some might say that’s boring, but I’m loving it.
