You can say a million bad things about the Going Down Swinging podcast. But you have to accept the fact that we will podcast from anywhere in the world, at anytime of the day with whomever we want . . . NO EXCUSES! Today was no different folks.
Some UFC news broke on a Monday afternoon, and we made a podcast happen. Quite frankly that is how we roll.
On Episode #31 of the “Going Down Swinging” podcast, the fans begged for insight into the breaking news regarding the upcoming Cain Velasquez v Fabricio Werdum heavyweight title fight on February 6. On Sunday, Cain pulled out. On Monday, after Stipe Miocic was granted the title shot, Werdum followed suit and dropped out as well. With the main event still in limbo, we break down what may happen, and what should happen in the heavyweight division.
Also, we have exclusive interviews with UFC, The Ultimate Fighter alum Alex Caceres (aka Bruce Leroy) and Lion Fight muay thai practitioner Bi Nguyen as both fighters prepare for exciting fights in their respective organizations this weekend!
As usual, we touch on some other local combat sports news, discuss the unfortunate incident that was Ronda Rousey’s appearance on Saturday Night Live and tell some stories like only we can do.

Pour yourself three fingers of the good stuff, put the world on mute and soak it in…because we are here to stay.
Special thanks to San Diego Brew Company for letting us record the podcast from the corner table near the friendly, but quite noisy family of six.
A very special thank you to Alex Caceres (aka Bruce Leroy) and Bi Nguyen for joining the show.
