New York, NY – GLORY, the world’s premier kickboxing league, today announced the return of former middleweight champion Simon “The ONE” Marcus (44-3-2, 24 KO) at GLORY 34 Denver, taking place this Friday, Oct. 21 at 1STBANK Center in Broomfield, Co.
Marcus, hailing from Toronto, will face hometown favorite Dustin “The Hanyak” Jacoby (9-7, 7 KO) in the co-headline bout of GLORY 34 Denver, a rematch of their championship tilt at GLORY 30 Los Angeles in May. The Canadian earned a unanimous decision in their previous encounter.
Turning himself around quickly, Marcus last competed just one month ago at GLORY 33 New Jersey, where he suffered defeat inside the GLORY ring for the first time in two years.
GLORY 34 Denver is headlined by Dutch rivals Nieky “The Natural” Holzken (89-11, 46 KO) and Murthel “The Predator” Groenhart (60-20-3, 34 KO) meeting for the third time – the second time inside the GLORY ring. The winner of this trilogy fight will walk away as GLORY welterweight world champion.
Middleweight contenders also throw down at GLORY 34 Denver as Israel Adesanya, Yousri Belgaroui, Ariel Machado, and Robert Thomas compete in a one-night, four-man tournament to earn a shot at reigning champion Jason Wilnis.
Machado (43-7, 33 KO) steps in on short notice to take the place of fellow Brazilian Alex Pereira, who was injured during final preparations for the tournament.
